Hotels and Villas in Crete
A family-owned place 20 minutes from Heraklion. This small boutique hotel Inotropes provides 8 freshly renovated suites, a common area, a wine tasting room as well as a whirlpool.
The Inotropes suites are family owned and are designed modern and with love for detail. The rooms are very generous and well equipped. Furthermore, the boutique hotel is located in a small and quiet location only 20 min from Heraklion.

The second hotel I stayed in is 3 hours north of Heraklion and 30 minutes from Chania. The Avra Imperial Hotel is a family hotel right by the beach. The hotel is separated into two buildings. I stayed in the hotel building across the street which has an extra pool as well as a breakfast restaurant (with Crete specialities). I would recommend booking a room stay in the main building to be closer to all facilities.
The hotel provides three pools, a beach bar, a pool bar, one main restaurant, one breakfast restaurant, three speciality restaurants, a gym, a large spa, a hairdresser, a nail salon as well as a kids club. The Avra Imperial Hotel is suitable for families with smaller kids. As it was high season (July) when I visited it was very busy. I personally enjoyed the beach area the most as there were fewer kids wherefore it was quieter.

Calma Villas in Sissi
Another week, another part of Crete. We spent the last three weeks in the Calma Luxury Villa in the town of Sissi.
The Villas have such a great location and sea view. I would suggest you to hire a scooter or a car to explore the island. However, you can walk to the town and beach close by.
The Calma Villas are very modern and well equipped. We had a villa with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, an equipped kitchen, an outdoor BBQ, a heated pool, PlayStation, three balconies and mosquito nets. I really appreciated the service and love to detail. On our arrival there were breakfast and some welcome snacks awaiting us. Furthermore, you will find basics such as towels and toiletry sets in the bathrooms as well as washing- and dishwasher pads. The villas get cleaned every three days and after departure, a special corona cleaning team cleans the villa.
We felt very welcomed and homely and we are looking forward to coming back. As Crete is the biggest island we also consider coming in winter to work remotely, catch some sun and enjoy the island.
