Miamar Hotel in Albania

While talking to locals in Corfu, I was encouraged to visit Albania. Intrigued by the idea, I took the opportunity, as it’s only an hour’s ferry ride from the new port of Corfu.

I stayed at the five-star Hotel Miamar, located near Himare. Although it’s a three-hour drive from the airport, it's just a 10-minute drive from the port of Himare. The hotel, which opened in 2017, features modern amenities including a gym, a pool, and a private beach bar. The interior design is impressive, and I particularly enjoyed the delicious food at the restaurant. The chef uses local ingredients and adheres to a farm-to-fork ethos, resulting in exquisite dishes that showcase the finest Albanian cuisine alongside international flavors. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, and lunch and dinner are served a la carte with a remarkable menu.

The overall atmosphere at the hotel is wonderful. During the day, there's always relaxed beach music playing in the background. I found the beach especially enjoyable due to the fewer number of children, while the pool area is mostly occupied by families.
