Waking up beside the mountains and a crystal-clear lake is truly dreamy.

The view from the balcony was nothing short of spectacular, with the lake's pristine waters and the majestic mountains in the background—truly postcard-perfect. The Grande Hotel Zell am See offers a delightful blend of traditional Austrian hospitality, alpine coziness, imperial luxury, and a touch of nostalgia. It’s a charming retreat conveniently located near the city center of Zell am See.

My favorite feature of the hotel was the rooftop spa, which boasts breathtaking views of the lake. For families, the Classic Spa provides a pool and direct access to the lake. If you prefer a more private experience, the suites offer the luxury of a private sauna.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning soon. Zell am See is also a fantastic destination in the summer. You can ski on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier until June or take advantage of hiking and mountain biking opportunities, with a refreshing dip in the lake to finish off your day. While I’ve yet to experience the mountains in summer, it’s certainly on my list for this year. Otherwise, I’ll be sure to return next winter.
